Autism Society of Greater Orlando’s Autism 5K and Fun Day

asgo_autismwalk_2015_23On May 29th, we had the pleasure of attending the Autism 5k and Family Fun Day that was held by the Autism Society of Greater Orlando along side other members of the Guardians of Justice. Mike attended as Captain Jack Sparrow and Tracy was a Starfleet Andorian (kids love it if your skin is a strange color hehe). In the photo to the left, the little girl pictured was such a sweet heart, she wasn’t quite sure what to make of a person with blue skin, but was very intrigued. She was one of the great kids that gave us many of the hugs that we got while attending the event.

asgo_autismwalk_2015_31There were tons of vendor tables selling anything from ItWorks! products to Origami Owl….not to mention an entertainment area with a DJ that was bumping some great dance tunes. A large parachute was there to play with, as well as a big bounce house down at the end. This event was really a great one and it goes on every year. This year’s registration greatly increased from previous years’ 800 participants to over 2,000! Isn’t that amazing growth?! It was held in the North Concourse of the Orange County Convention Center and thank goodness, too! It was AWESOME doing an event that was held indoors and well air conditioned!

We love doing these kinds of events and we always learn so much about the disabilities and illnesses that plague our younger generations while at them. If you would like to know more about the non-profit organization that we are in, you can check us out at: GuardiansOfJustice.org
